Building and Structural Permit Registration

Ag Structure Exemptions and the requirements fall under Hawaii Revised Statues 46-88 and can be found online.

When constructing permitted structures please follow the
● International Residential Code 2018 (IRC 2018),
● and/or International Building Code 2018 (IBC 2018),
as specified by the City approved permit and plans,
as well as the City & County of Honolulu
● CH16 (IRC/ IBC Amendments),
● CH18 (Permit Requirements),
● and CH21 Land Use Ordinance (LUO).

How to apply for a new structure

  1. Fill out the formSubmit your application to get started. You will receive an application number immediately.
  2. Download and complete the PDF formsLinks to every required document appear as soon as you submit. Fill them out on your computer, or print and scan them.
  3. Upload your forms, map and any grading plansUpload them right on the application page. They go straight to your private lot folder. DPP requires a map showing where the structure will sit.
  4. Book your appointmentThe calendar opens once your paperwork is in. Pick a time to review your application at the KLRF office.
  5. Bring your forms to the appointmentThe board reviews your application with you at the scheduled time.

The application is in the member portal. You will be asked to sign in with your Lot Owner account, or create one, before you can start.
