Kunia Loa Ridge Farmlands
The committees doing the work
Six committees, run by owners, covering the market, the roads, the water, the animals and what comes next. 4 are active today and the rest are forming — here is where each one stands.
Farmers Market
ActiveWhere the community comes together to support local farmers and small businesses. Fresh produce, homemade goods and hot food, with the country views thrown in.
Goals & updates
- Grand opening of the expanded market planned for the first week of December.
- Events moving to twice per month to keep up with growing participation.
- The market now has its own website, directory and email.
Road
ActiveFocused on road safety, long-term maintenance and honest reporting on what shape the roads are actually in.
Goals & updates
- Building a road condition database with photos and locations to guide maintenance planning.
- Continuing monthly road cleanups ahead of each Farmers Market.
- Prioritising repairs based on what the database shows.
Water
ActiveBringing water costs down and keeping service reliable — the two things that affect every lot on the ridge.
Goals & updates
- Already achieved a reduced rate of $3 per 1,000 gallons.
- Repairing the water reservoirs.
- Further reducing and stabilising pricing through system efficiency and cooperative purchasing.

Goals & updates
- Building a pet database to track animals across lots for safety and accountability.
- Improving pet reporting procedures to encourage responsible ownership.
- Setting up a lost and found system for animals across lots.
